Cardiology is a Greek word cardia means heart and logy means study of. It is a branch of medicine which concerns diseases and disorders of heart. They treat patients who had problems in heart such as heart attack, heart failure or any other heart problems. A cardiologist mainly focuses in treating and diagnosing diseases of the cardiovascular system. The cardiologist will perform some tests, procedures such as angioplasty, heart catheterizations, or inserting a pacemaker. Cardiologist treat a variety of heart conditions such as heart diseases, vascular disorders, congenital heart disorders or defects, heart failure, and emergency cardiac conditions such as heart attacks and cardiac arrests. The cardiologist evaluates your symptoms and checks your medical history and decides if your condition can be managed under medicines or any other treatments. These diseases include problems in heart rhythm, heart failures and coronary artery disease.
